Christmas

Well, Christmas wasn't exactly what we had imagined it would be... Nathan got a high fever on Sunday, and so all of Christmas eve was spent hoping he would be better for Christmas morning. He was still sick and feverish Christmas Day, but luckily he was still happy and running all over the place. He enjoyed seeing his toys and having fun. Unfortunately, these were the only pictures we took of him on Christmas... and he doesn't look too well. :)

After opening presents, we took Nathan to the doctor because we investigated and found 'junk' on his tonsils. The doctor (who was sadly, but thankfully working on Christmas) took a strep test and it came out negative. He was just sick with an infection in the throat. He sadly transferred it to Daddy, just in time for Christmas morning. :( Two sick boys on Christmas day.

Nathan loved his presents and his stocking. Santa was very generous and got him this cute train table. He also loved his stocking and was excited to see all the sweet treats. He got a few "Cars" items in his stocking which he loved (since he is completely obsessed with that show). He would probably watch it 3 or 4 times a day if I would let him.

Aunt Jenni gave Nathan a basketball hoop that Mom and Dad had requested, along with some more basketballs. He is definately going to be a sports fanatic. I think he was born with this trait, because we really haven't done much to encourage it. But honestly, I think he can throw harder than I can, and sometimes with better aim! I have to be careful to play catch with him when he is throwing a softer ball so that Mom can catch it and not get hurt. Then I send him to Daddy, who can totally handle it.

The Polar Express!

We got to ride on the Polar Express earlier this month... Jon's sister Jenni has an amazing house, and yard, and neighborhood. They put train tracks all around 4 houses (3 of which, just happen to be family), and created a Polar Express ride for all the neighborhood kids. The kids ride on the train and hear Christmas music while they see Christmas lights, make a stop at Santa's workshop, and see pictures of Christ's birth. It was really fun. Here are some fun pictures that we took.

This is our family in front of the engine,
before the train ride begins.

Here we are all bundled up and ready to go!!

Jon's brother Jared and his family
were there the same time we were.

Here is Nathan with Grandma and Grandpa

This is when the train stopped at the "North Pole"
and we visited Santa's workshop.
Nathan had fun talking to Santa,
and pointing to all the fun toys that he saw.

Here is cousin Lanie (Jared & Sarah's)
with Aunt Jenni (Santa's helper).

After the kids talked to Santa, he told about
the significance of the candy cane,
and then we sang some Christmas carols.
This picture was while we were singing
"Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer."

We had such a fun time while we were there. Nathan got kind of cold, because Mom forgot his heavy winter coat. We kept him bundled up in Blankets and his hat, but his little nose looked pretty cold. He had fun pointing to all the lights and pictures. Jenni & Scott (and Scott's parents and family) are so gracious and kind for going to so much work and effort to allow the kids to have this fun experience. Thank-you Jenni and Scott!
