We are still alive...

I feel like it has been forever since I posted...

Update on the weight issue: I'm working out every morning at 7am. I go to a class by a personal trainer who is opening his own gym. The workouts are a killer, but I'm so glad I'm going. I haven't lost a ton of weight... in fact I lost and then gained, but he said not to get on the scale, because that isn't always a sure sign of progress, especially if you're building muscle (which I better be). The classes have been free for June (thankfully), but hopefully when I have to start paying we can work it into the budget because I feel so much better when I go. I have been doing things I wouldn't ever have imagined doing before. (i.e. running laps around the track and the bleachers, army crawling the length of the football field... amongst other things). I am really trying to eat better, although that could still use some improvement. I hurt my knee almost 2 weeks ago, but I have kept going to the classes so I don't lose momentum. I just do whatever I can... but it's finally starting to feel better, so hopefully by the end of the week I will be able to sprint again. I feel a lot better exercising every morning to get me going... even if it's just an emotional boost. I am still worried about how I will look at my sister's wedding, but probably better than I looked a month ago, and hopefully better than I look now, so I guess progress is progress.

The Family: We are all doing well. I think Matthew is teething, so he has been a bit crabby as of late, but we're hoping the teeth poke through soon, so that his runny nose will go away and he will start eating and sleeping a little bit better. He still smiles all the time though and it is fun to watch him grow. He went in for his 6 month check-up, and he is pretty small for his age... only 25-30% in weight and height. Nathan was more like 80-90%, so there is a big difference. But he still looks chubby and has some fat cheeks and roly-poly legs, so he looks good. :) Nathan is so funny lately. I really should get in the habit of writing down funny stuff he does and says everyday so I can document it all. He can make Matthew laugh better than anyone else, and it is so cute to see the two of them interact. I made the mistake of telling Nathan that we were going to go see his cousin Braden for the 4th of July and see fireworks, so now he asks about a dozen or more times a day if we are going to see Braden today. He can't quite grasp the concept of time yet. He doesn't understand more than tomorrow. Everything will happen either today or tomorrow. He has also been saying Happy Father's Day to Jon for the last 3 or 4 days. It is so cute. Jon was leaving for work this morning, and Nathan had to stop him to tell him Happy Father's Day. My Dad's birthday was Saturday, so with that and Father's Day, Nathan has had fun with the gift-giving. But he likes opening their presents for them. I let him help me wrap them, so when it's time for them to open it, he gets really excited and says "let me show you sumping (something)" and repeats it over and over while he unwraps their gift. He still loves to read, and if you get him talking, watch out. He knows how to call Jon from my cell phone, and loves to talk to the Grandma's too.In May, my sister Jenny came down with her family and we went to see Thomas the Tank Engine. It was quite fun. The train ride wasn't that great, but the kids had fun and Nathan is still talking about it.

Mother's Day & Father's Day have come and gone... we are reminded how lucky we are to have our adorable children. Sometimes it is difficult to answer to the demands of parenthood, but we wouldn't trade it for anything. We are also reminded how hard our parents worked in raising us and what a great job they are doing being grandparents to our children. These are pictures we took on Father's Day.

I hardly ever get on the computer anymore... I try to steal a couple of minutes every couple of days to check my email. But more than a couple of minutes and the kids get really crabby with me in the office, as they are at this very moment. Matthew doesn't take very long naps, which makes it even harder.

Matthew is in a baby contest. We are hoping it will win us a family vacation. Let's admit it, no mother thinks someone else's baby is the 'cutest'. So how is a baby contest really fair? But if you think he's cute, we'd love a vacation. If you would like to help us get there, you can vote here: http://www.kosy.com/pages/baby_idol/vote.html
He is #111. I will put more pictures for the contest in the next post.

We are still loving our house, neighborhood, ward, and eachother! The kids wear us out, test our patience, our endurance, and our play skills, but we have fun & the boys make us laugh a lot!
