Christmas

I am sad that Christmas is over. It was so great to have Jon home during the holidays, and to enjoy our time as a family. We decided that with a new baby, we weren't going to commit to any obligations. I loved our family time Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, and we may make a tradition out of staying home those two days, and just be together with the kids!

Christmas morning was tons of fun! It was so fun to see Nathan's reaction to everything. It was fun to just be home with the kids and not have any obligations to go anywhere else on Christmas. We took our time opening presents, and let Nathan open and play with the gifts as fast or slow as he wanted. He usually wanted to open a gift and play with it a little before moving on to the next thing.

This was a pirate ship from Grandma! He loves it!

Matthew got this little play yard from Grandma! So cute! You can also see in the above picture that Matthew got rice cereal and spoons from Santa... to be used in the coming months.Nathan loved all of his gifts, and is still loving and playing with all of them. I think we and Santa were successful at picking out toys that he would enjoy. Santa gave him a KidiJamz piano, that is so adorable and so much fun for him to play with! Jon's favorite gift from Santa was a Castle lego set (yes, still a kid) :) and my favorite from Santa was a new Cricut expression machine. I haven't used one before and is quite overwhelming. If anyone has one, and has scrapbook pages or other projects I can see to get some ideas, just let me know. Santa was very good to us this year, and I think he's very grateful for all the great deals he found!

As we get older we realize that the best Christmas gifts are not those that Santa brings. Time as a family and feeling the Spirit are always highlights of Christmas, but our very favorite gift this year came from our Heavenly Father... to send us this sweet, precious little boy, who we all love so much! We are very grateful to have him here, safe and healthy!

Our very favorite Christmas Gift!

Christmas Eve

I'm splitting up the pictures of Christmas into a couple of different posts, b/c it's just easier that way...

We started out Christmas Eve by going to Jon's company Christmas party. Nathan got to talk to Santa, and told him "I want toys." Santa did a great job of bringing toys, and unfortunately I think Nathan will be a lot harder to please in the years to come. Santa did hand him an early gift at the party, which Nathan was really excited about! Thanks to Jon's company for the fun with Santa!

This was our first time taking Matthew out in public. I was very nervous about him being so young. Santa was the only one who got to hold our little one... and I was probably over-cautious, but did ask to make sure Santa wasn't sick, before handing him our 10 day-old bundle.

The Christmas Jammies! Their PJ's say 'Best Friends' and lets hope that they will be!
I made cookies on Christmas Eve so we would have warm cookies to leave out for Santa. Nathan thought it was pretty exciting, and was really excited when he woke up Christmas morning and the cookies and milk were gone! It was great to see his reaction. I didn't get any pictures, but we did get it on video.Yum, yum! It's making me hungry!

We also sang Christmas songs around the piano before going to bed. It was great to see Nathan enjoying and understanding some of the Christmas traditions this year. Christmas is so fun with little ones!
