Loving Life

So, it has been a while since my last post, and there is a lot that I didn't talk about.

Nathan turned three the end of March, and he is more fun everyday. He loves to play outside in the yard that I LOVE!!!!! He loves all kinds of sports and says the funniest things lately. He got a tee-ball set for his birthday that he loves to play with, and we went bowling for Kayla's birthday the beginning of April. He is still talking about it!

I turned 27 recently, and I really don't feel much different. I am grateful to my sweet husband who continues to show his love for me. I don't deserve so much of what he gives to me... but unfortunately it seems there is always something I would love to have, and he indulges me every so often. I got some fun gift cards from him, so I am going to have fun shopping for home decor. :)

Poor Matthew has been cursed with ear infections since he was about a month old. They have been constant. As soon as he is off an antibiotic, he has a new one. They have even checked to make sure the infection is gone before taking him off antibiotics, but it always seems to come right back. Last week we were into the doctor 4 days out the week. And this is the first week in many months that we have not been in to the doctor. Last Thursday Matthew had tubes put in his ears. He seems to be doing better, and has a check-up for the tubes on Monday. He seems to be sleeping and eating a bit better, and hopefully things will continue to improve. Overall, he seems to be a happier and easier baby.

So my goal to lose weight is going... well, it's still going. I have lost a little, but not as much as I'd like. It's my own fault. I often blame the fact that I have 2 kids... but that only goes so far. I am still determined to lose the weight. I've done it before and I'll do it again, although I do have to say that it was SO much easier before I had kids. I could get out and run or go to the gym any time I felt like it or that was convenient. Now it seems that no time is convenient. I certainly thought that by the time Matt was 5 months old, I would be much smaller than I am now. It's mighty depressing, but there is nothing else to do but to keep plugging along. When I had Nathan I thought exercising was hard, but it's at least twice as hard now with 2 kids to worry about instead of just one. I just might have to concede to getting up early before the boys wake up and before Jon has to go to work. I love my sleep, especially when I am up numerous times during the night, but something has to give. Thank-you everyone for your comments to my last post. The encouragement is much needed. I really needed what Natalie had to say about just being happy with myself. I really have a hard time with that, and probably haven't just been accepting of myself for a long time. I have always felt too big, but when I look back on pictures I think, "Gosh, I was cute then. I shouldn't have been so hard on myself." But it's hard to see that way in the moment. My little sister is getting married in August, and I definitely need to be a lot smaller by then.

Despite challenging days and weeks of Matthew being sick, I have so much gratitude lately. I am so grateful for family. I got to see all of my siblings last weekend, and I loved it. I really miss them and wished we all lived close to each other. I am so thankful for my husband and my two adorable and lovable boys. And I am so grateful for my home! I'm grateful we have a cute little home in a wonderful neighborhood with an awesome yard! Love it, Love it, Love it!!
