Isn't He Cute?

I just love this little guy.
So far, I'm not near as depressed or overwhelmed as I was when I had Nathan. A big reason for that is Jon. He has been amazing. He has been getting up at night with me for every feeding, always being the one to get up and change the diapers. He also takes care of Nathan, cleans, cooks, and makes sure I have everything I need. Nathan has grown very attached to Daddy, and I'm afraid how he will be when Jon heads back to work. He will go back to work on Monday, but only for 3 days. We will get a little taste of what normal life will be like when Jon is gone all day. After Christmas, I think he will have work off until the New Year. We are very lucky, and the timing works out perfectly. So hopefully by the time Jon has to go back to work in January, I will be ready to take over being a mother of two.

I had just washed his hair, and it was sticking straight out on all sides. It doesn't show up as well in these pictures, but I had a hard time not laughing. I'm pretty sure his hair is longer than Nathan's was. Nathan had a ton of hair, but Matthew's is really long for only 4 days old! It's already growing over his ears. I couldn't bear to give him a haircut quite yet, so hopefully he won't end up looking like a girl before I get the courage to do it.

This is right after we put his jammies on him last night. I didn't anticipate having a baby so much smaller than Nathan. So... we don't really have many clothes that fit him. None of the newborn clothes really fit Nathan, so we don't really have anything that small. He seems comfortable enough in the oversized clothes, so we'll probably just stick it out until he grows into them. We do take him into the doctor today to make sure he's gaining enough weight. He has quite the appetite, but I never seem to have enough milk for him. He always wants more than I've got. Hopefully he'll weigh a lot more than he did when we left the hospital.


This is Nathan right after Matthew woke up this morning. He was really excited to hold his little brother. It is really cute how much Nathan loves him and wants to help out.
